Peanut Shell

Well, it wasn’t so very long ago
I was bounded in a peanut shell
Not so happy as my own face
And not the king of infinite space

Talkin’ like Linus, the luck of Charlie Brown
I had a girlfriend like Lucy and I smelled like Pig Pen
And all the eggs that I had painted all my dreams on
They’re all gone
Now I’m just skinny and sick and mad
I can’t pack my bags, I got nothin’ to put in ‘em
Can’t pack my bags ‘cuz my bags were ripped off

(Refrain)
Oh well, maybe it’s time to go home
There’s nothin’ left here to destroy
I made my mark and my mark sucks
This sucks
I’m goin’ home

Still a good distance from the house that day
Got spotted by my old man
I thought he’d sock my face but he gave a big cheer, raced out
And welcomed me back

(Refrain)
