Hey, Isn’t That Dan Lord’s Book Over There?

10 Jun

My forthcoming book is now the leprechaun of the book world–if you look closely at the following image, you can spot it, right next to that immense pink book about sex.

My spousal entity just happened to set up her book next to it at the recent RBTE in Chicago. Isn’t that bizarre? Even I hadn’t seen it yet! Anyway, it’s due out in September, and I’m radically thrilled. A thousand gold coins to the next person who spots it before the release date!*

* this one-time offer excludes all employees of Our Sunday Visitor Publishing, and my wife. And leprechauns.

I didn’t set up your book next to that “immense pink book about sex.” (Ahem.) A leprechaun must have done it.

And I must remember to thank said leprechaun for doing so. I do believe our books are a match made in Heaven. ;)

Absolutely wonderful, Dan! I’ll see if I can find it around somewhere when it’s released and give it a gander or five. Congratulations, and good job!

I just found your blog after reading your piece “The Grateful Drunk” on Catholic Exchange. I was so moved & thought of the verse, “Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do it to me”. God bless you for helping those most shunned & misunderstood in our society.

I write a blog on wordpress called “Caregiving with Grace”. My address is maryjsnustad.wordpress.com I write about my life long journey of caring for my mom, who have alcohol induced & vascular dementia, which was mostly caused by years of chemical abuse. I write about how my Catholic faith gives me great strength & hope while healing in recovery of being an adult child of an alcoholic, & in my role of being my mother’s legal guardian & caregiver (not main, as she is in a nursing home).

I can’t wait to read your book this year! Your spousal entity’s book is actually in my purse right now just waiting for me to read! I heard Hallie on Relevant Radio one day & just had to get it (plus I’m a huge fan of Conversion Diary & I have to Sit Down blog writers!)

It is SO refreshing, encouraging, exciting, & inspiring to find fellow youngish (I am forever thirty “something” ;) ) funny hip Conservative Catholics out there who speak the truth of our rich faith in such a relevant & entertaining way! God bless the both of you!

Congratulations for you both! I cannot wait to read BOTH literary masterpieces! It’s an amazing feeling isn’t it? I just had my first book published by Oxford in November 2011, and I still have the “weirdies” about it. The strangest feeling is when you see STRANGERS reading it! That happened to me a few months ago. I was on the subway, and a woman was reading it across from me! Apologies – I didn’t mean to hijack YOUR book announcement! I hope you enjoy “the weirdies” YOU experience from your accomplishment. May you both move a gargantuan number of units worldwide! God Bless!

Thank you to everybody, regular readers and new pals, for leaving such excellent, supportive comments, and for all of you out there who keep coming back. You’re the best, and I hope the book will bring a smile to your big, collective face. God bless!
