As some TSOW readers may have gathered, my dear old Dad passed away about three weeks ago. He was a great man. I miss him–but in a healthy way, the way you miss someone you know you’ll see again some day, God willing. I want to say thank you–thank you so much–to all of you who prayed for me and my Dad, sent me emails, posted condolences on Twitter (which, I suppose, ought to be called “Tweetolences”), left warm, supportive comments either for me or by way of Hallie. So many good people out there.
And at the risk of this sounding like some kind of awards speech, I’d also like to say thank you to everybody who came out to my presentation for Theology on Tap in Cincinnati. You people were amazingly encouraging and enthusiastic. It helped a lot, I think, that your senses of humor were as offbeat as my own.
God bless everybody–is that over the top? Well, too late. I wrote it. Back again for more TSOW posts soon!

I was one in attendance for theology on tap in Cincinnati. And I truly thought it was amazing. I am new into the church (just baptized confermed and received my first holy eucerist) and I thought your words were ever so inspiring. Please keep it up because if you help more people like myself that is amazing.
It means a lot to me that you took the time to write all that, Jordan. God bless.
Oh my.
Terribly sorry to hear about your Dad passing, Dan. I am glad to hear that you are doing well (perhaps not the correct term, but I am at a loss) in spite of it, and I hope that continues to be a trend.
What does “Theology on Tap” entail, exactly?
Taylor! Thank you for your kind words. As for Theology on Tap, it is a really excellent excuse for drinking beer and talking about anything related to theology. A pub or some kind of watering hole is selected in advance, people gather for food and alcoholic beverages, and a speaker gets up and delivers a presentation. It’s much less formal and far more relaxed than a regular presentation, and just an all around cool experience.
